The original problem that was reported, that statd listens on a random
port when -p is passed, is fixed in Ubuntu 9.10.
The linked Debian and upstream bugs appear to refer to a problem
regarding the /outbound/ port used; I haven't confirmed whether that
issue is present in 9.10, but that's a separate issue.
