Returning to comment # 9, I just upgraded to version 2.6.31-16-generic and, after rebooting, lost the wireless connection again. Fortunately, I had a copy of the compilation process of the driver as stated in comment # 6, which I run as root (su) and, in my PC, finding madwifi-ng under /root. After rebooting, I got my wireless connection back as before.
