Public bug reported:

Just today, 12/05/09, I received an error message prior to getting the
KDM login screen to load. The error stated that an error had occurred
and the "i810 module failed to load" and "module does not exist". I
have used my laptop as recently as yesterday and had no such error. I
attempted the options presented to reconfigure xorg, revert to my backup
xorg config, and use the generic xorg config, but I got no response from
the gui that presented these options. To boot into my KDE session, I
had to hit "ESC" when the Kubuntu splash screen appeared to enable
verbose mode in bootup, then repeatedly hit "CTRL+C" after the steps in
the bootup began to appear. Doing this allowed the KDM login screen to
appear.

I also switched back to GDM as the default display manager and rebooted,
logging into a KDE session again.. I got no error messages. The GDM
screen appeared with no problems.

I have a Toshiba Satellite M46-S265, with an Intel 915GM graphics card.
I am not sure if this is a graphics driver issue, a KDM issue, or a
problem with another package. Any help is appreciated.
