I am having a similar problem, however restarting udev doesn't help in my case.
I installed Karmic two days prior to the actual release and everything has been working fine until today. I've been doing regular updates and haven't had any problems. The last time I updated was Friday (2009-12-04) and everything was working fine until I updated this morning (2009-12-07). I am still able to mount the flash drives manually, but it's starting to become an annoyance. dmesg | tail: [ 6154.477968] scsi 9:0:0:0: Direct-Access JetFlash Transcend 4GB 8.07 PQ: 0 ANSI: 2 [ 6154.479414] sd 9:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg2 type 0 [ 6154.500095] sd 9:0:0:0: [sdb] 7843840 512-byte logical blocks: (4.01 GB/3.74 GiB) [ 6154.500679] sd 9:0:0:0: [sdb] Write Protect is off [ 6154.500685] sd 9:0:0:0: [sdb] Mode Sense: 03 00 00 00 [ 6154.500689] sd 9:0:0:0: [sdb] Assuming drive cache: write through [ 6154.506929] sd 9:0:0:0: [sdb] Assuming drive cache: write through [ 6154.506944] sdb: sdb1 [ 6154.708225] sd 9:0:0:0: [sdb] Assuming drive cache: write through [ 6154.708263] sd 9:0:0:0: [sdb] Attached SCSI removable disk uname -a: Linux tmsaws 2.6.31-15-generic #50-Ubuntu SMP Tue Nov 10 14:54:29 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux -- usb keys don't automount https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/471576 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
