Thank you for your quick help. With the information you sent me in #2 I resolve 
the issue. I'm attaching the old /etc/default/grub file, the problem was with 
the "mem=980" option. I'm attaching the new /etc/default/grub file too, where I 
removed the "mem=980" option.
I remove the "mem=980" option and ran 'update-grub', everything works ok, the 
2.6.31-16 kernel appear in the grub start now.
I had the "mem=980" option because is suggested for the Poulsbo driver.
It is possible to put it in the 2.6.31-16 Kernel?
