Please install linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic-generic and reboot. Also,
make sure you either deinstall sl-modem-daemon and/or kill slmodemd
(alternately use the version of pulseaudio from the ubuntu-audio-dev PPA).

Public bug reported:

I have tried to get sound working on this new MythBuntu install (9.10),
but hasn't succeeded yet.

This is what I did:
Tried every model listed under stac9200 here:
http://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/sound/alsa/HD-Audio-Models.txt
By this rutine:
*change model
*alsa force-reload
*check alsamixer that nothing is muted
*speaker-test (listening on headphones)
*playing sound with aplay (listening on headphones)

Would this be the correct way to test?
I have been trying to check user/group rights as well, nothing seems wrong.

In alsamixer I only have: Master, PCM, Caller I, Off Hook.
Is this normal?

Also, is this the place to report my problem? Or should I go to Alsa
mailing-lists instead?
