I'm running OpenOffice 3.1.1. on Ubuntu 9.10 and am getting the same problem. Open Office crashes on load of ppt files. I'm getting this with quite a lot of different ppt files. Attached is a very simple file which crashes Open Office on load. The PPT is mine and is not private.
