Thank you, all is fixed now except I have a xubuntu startup screen(????).
SOrry alsao that it has taken a long time to say 'thanks' but I just installed
9.10 on my netbook and it wiped out the solid state drive!! Fortunately a DD
command fixed that. There seem to have been a lot of problems with 9.10,
perhaps you were busy ;-). Even now I cannot connect to the UK server and have
to change to main server in software sources. Not good!
