Status in “thunderbird” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Binary package hint: Thunderbird I am so frustrated. First of all, I installed the newest version of Kbuntu for x86. Then I downloaded Thunderbird 3 and extracted it. But there are NO instructions anywhere that explain how to install it to new Linux users. First I find it frustrating. Then I find it arrogant that no explanations of how to do this are provided at the installation site. Then I find it really strange that Linux is advertised as ready for the average user, but it is nearly impossible to figure out how to do a "simple" installation of a new program that is not in one of their "packages". Please address in detail how someone who is new to Linux can install Thunderbird 3. No geek speak please unless you first define the terms and how to invoke them.
