Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: openoffice.org
In all of the OpenOffice 3.1 applications that are delivered with the
Karmic Koala distribution, none of the text is displayed in any of the
menus, dropdowns or dialog boxes. Therefore, I cannot report the bug
from inside the application.
I have just upgraded to Karmic Koala and that was when the problem
appeared. It does not occur on any of my other machines running KK, nor
does it seem to occur in any of the other applications on this machine.
I have uninstalled OpenOffice and reinstalled it, but the problem
remains.
However, in the course of trying to diagnose this problem I noticed that
System Monitor displays its entire form covered in a tartan-like hash of
coloured lines. So it might be a display problem rather than an
application problem.
I've attached a screen shot of OpenOffice Writer with the File dropdown
displayed to illustrate the problem.
