Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-session

Ubuntu Karmic:
RIght clicked a file to get properties (to see file size) and all my icons
disappeared. They return at reboot or logging out and back in. Panels and
associated menus still work, but icons disappear completely from the desktop.
No other problems.
