Could you please attach the output of: /etc/network/interfaces
I'm not sure if this is the case but you might want to try leaving it
disabled then logging out and back in. To quote the readme:
Only devices that are *not* listed in /etc/network/interfaces or which have
been configured "auto" and "dhcp" (with no other options) are managed by NM.
Let me know how it goes.
