Public bug reported:
I have a Toshiba L505D-S5983 laptop with the Athlon II X2 and the Insyde H2O
bios. With 9.10 only one core is recognized. As far as I can tell the bios is
the latest.
Attached is the boot log up to the point where init is starting
services.
This machine would not boot with the Ubuntu 9.10 x86-64 desktop CD. I had to
install
from the alternate and then turn off acpid to get it to work. I do not know
whether I
need the acpi=off flag with the 2.6.31-16 kernel.
I tried what people tried in connection with bug #437821 but none of that had
any effect.
