better. You might be interested in testing the Alpha version of Ubuntu,
Feisty Fawn Herd 4. You can learn about it at
http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/herd4 . Alternatively could you try
booting off the CD without the 'quiet' and 'splash' kernel lines?
