Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 9.04 used to work fine. Upgrading to 9.10 has started causing
quite frequent and random system freezes.

The two times (that I remember this has happened repeatedly) is when I
use Ctrl-Alt-Right / Left keys to go to another console, and when I use
totem to view movies...

I use the computer for browsing or for watching movies, which is
essentially when I do what I do in the two test cases above. Crashing
while watching is quite frequent (about 2-3 times in a movie) and is
irritating too, because apart from the fact that keyboard / mouse
doesn't work, even the sound gets stuck and its a generally a loud
continuous screeching sound, depending on what was playing in the movie
at the time of the freeze.

I have tried attaching the ubuntu-bug -p linux report to this email.
Anything else you may want to know ? Or any other way I can enable
something to get the mem dump ... I doubt that it'd work though. I have
windows 7 and it worked fine... watched a lot of movies there sometime
back and it seemed quite fine.
