In case of a failing hard drive, switching distributions will not solve
anything. Changing the drive is your only solution.

I am actually using kubuntu 9.10 that I did a fresh install with a disc sent to
me from launchpad. now my hard drive is about to fail so I am going back to
9.04. it crashes alot. I am using a live cd to do this report.
