The actual default driver on the use from cd and install cd will not bring up a GDM display when finished. If you boot directly from the CD no disk image on display. If you use the test installer because you can not get to the cd GDM then you still get no picture on your monitors. I was able to get around this so, no it was not the hardware. I just had to do it on about 20 machines.
