I don't think this bug is really a duplicate, it's just more obvious
because of bug 476924. This bug implies that after ksplash starts, kdm
never actually gets to show a login box (therefore, apparently kdm
crashes on the way). If bug 476924 would be solved, this bug would still
happen, but people would see a blankc screen instead of ksplash...
P.S.: @Hans -- the flickering is really noticeable if the chosen kdm
theme is different from the default ksplash theme, otherwise it's hard
to spot.
