Just to update: Cannot uninstall gforge from ubuntu 9.1 see report:

everything is the latest version and also as a result of this I cannot
uninstall apache.
This is a major unsolved issue and it looks like we are now going into
2010 without any resolution. I am just wondering what will happen if we
suddenly see a giant monolith in the sky and there is still no
resolution.
