BUMP BUMP BUMP

The problem is still here... it ain't goin' away!!

Linux 2.6.31-16-generic #53-Ubuntu SMP Tue Dec 8 04:01:29 UTC 2009 i686
GNU/Linux

The only difference I noticed, now when it locks up (and still does,
after approx. 4 hours in standby--even while connected to AC), it only
takes a couple of power cycles to actually restart: it used to take
about a dozen power-on attempts to actually restart the laptop (i.e.
press power button, you hear the CD head moving but screen didn't light
up and laptop didn't boot. then, after a couple of seconds, the cycle
started over, again to no avail.)
