While this would be fixed with dkms integration, it sounds like this
isn't a bug, but just that the open-vm-tools modules haven't been built.
Do you still experience this bug if you follow the instructions in
/usr/share/doc/open-vm-source/README.Debian in the open-vm-source
package?
