I hope we will be able to get the fixed 3.2.0 at least in ppa for karmic. I have checked the debian bug report and there are 2 things that I find completely weird.
1) Go-oo does not have a bug report system and uses the opensuse one (so I was told). But eventually it is the debian people telling novell on their bug reporting system that the bug is fixed in 3.2.0beta2 and not the other way round. This makes me wonder. 2) In the bug tracking sistems it is common to see this bug treated as non-important. When people using oo for scientific presentation say that to have proper subscript/superscripts is a determining factor, they are often told that it is almost their fault if the bug gets exposed so often, since they should use proper formulas and not formatting. I think we would love to, but as a matter of fact, openoffice copied the ms office deficiency of not allowing formulas anchored as characters in presentations. Which is why we are stuck with formatting. And indirectly this is why this bug is very critical. -- [ooo-build] OOo text rendering broken in transition from 3.0.1 to 3.1.0 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/384249 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
