reproduced with Inkscape 0.47+devel r8896 on OS X 10.5.8

This only happens when bounding box snapping is off and node snapping is on
(snapping toolbar):
Dragging the bbox resize handle on the right side: the semi-circle collapses to
a vertical line.
Dragging the bbox resize handle on the left side: the semi-circle extends
indefinitely to the right side.

Disabling node-snapping allows resizing of the half-circle with despite visible
grid.
Enabling bounding box snapping on the toolbar does not trigger this bug and
overrides the node snapping mode.
