Okay, so I've tested this issue and here are results: - it doesn't matter which GRUB version (legacy or 2) I'm using, or even which Ubuntu version (9.04 or 9.10) - it DOES matter which kernel I use: * 2.6.28.x works just fine * 2.6.30.x doesn't work (blank screen) * 2.6.32.x also doesn't work
So the issue is in kernel itself, there must've been a regression somewhere between 2.6.28 and 2.6.30 branch.
