assuming that none of these crashes happened when actually saving a document as
*.xcf' file, this issue is possibly the same as reported in
Bug #404289 in Inkscape: “Persistent error message about py extensions.”:
<https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/404289>
which is linked to
Bug #418242 in Inkscape: “Incorrect call to output plugins (with persistent
error message) on copy”:
<https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/418242>

Do you have any third-party clipboard or download managers running that
monitor the clipboard for URLs?

Currently these applications are known to randomly trigger an input/output
extension:
- FreeRapid Downloader
- jDownloader
- xfce4-clipman-plugin 1.1.3

similar report on Windows, unconfirmed so far:
Bug #494472 in Inkscape: “Opened and closed outlook. On closing Python window
appeared and on retuning to inkscape I received an error message”:
<https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/494472>
