Public bug reported: Ubuntu 9.10
1. From Ubuntu Software Center trunk <https://code.launchpad.net /~software-store-developers/software-center/trunk>, search for "real- time kernel". What happens: There are 17 results, none of which are the standard linux-image-rt (though one of them is linux-image-2.6.31-9-rt). What should happen: linux-image-rt should be one of the results. This bug occurs because the package description for linux-image-rt does not mention "real-time" at all. The description is "This package will always depend on the latest rt kernel image available.", which isn't helpful. A better description would start with "The latest version of the real- time Linux kernel." While you're there, a sentence or two describing the benefits and disadvantages of using the real-time kernel might help too. Problem occurs with: Ubuntu 8.10, 9.04, 9.10, Lucid Does not occur with: Ubuntu 8.04 (according to <http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=linux-image-rt>) ** Affects: linux-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: metadata ** Tags added: metadata -- Package description doesn't mention "real-time" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/499524 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
