Several of us have been spending a fair amount of time over in bug #486154 trying to figure this out, and we still haven't accomplished it. In fact, we're not entirely sure in what sub-system the PC speaker beep was disabled. Can those responsible for the change *please* stop by and let us know what was changed, so we know what we have to undo? Pretty please?
