** Description changed:

- When I start ubuntu after windows had been used, often a command-line
- login is prompted for 60 seconds. Then the graphical startup continues,
- bus when start-up is complete, I cannot connect to the internet (network
- device seems broken). After reboot, the issues do not re-appear (as long
- as windows isn't used).
+ tty1login is prompted for a minute at startup (after ubuntu logo and
+ before Xsplash screen)

+ When I start ubuntu after windows had been used, often a tty1 login is
prompted for a minute. Then the graphical startup continues.
+ When start-up is complete, I cannot connect to the internet (network device
seems broken). I add this, since the issues coincide.
+
+ After reboot, these issues do not re-appear (as long as windows isn't
+ used, also, it doesn't happen every time windows was used).

I dual boot Windows Vista enterprise and Ubuntu 9.10 on a DELL vostro
1000 notebook. With Ubuntu 9.04, I didn't have this problem.

** Summary changed:
