It is still an issue for 8.04, turns out to be a kernel issue - only way to
get it 'partially' solved is by building a custom kernel. Fact remains that
the chipset is unstable in the USB department. Switching to Karmic is not an
option as the support cycle is too short for any real application. It has to
be LTS or no ubuntu. I've switched back to Debian till ubuntu comes up with
a truly stable and workable LTS.
