magneze, are you sure that there is NO audio? Shortly after upgrading to karmic, I have thought of having no sound (it work initially, but after a few updates, it seemed to have stopped). However, using external speakers at full power via the headphones plug I can hear sound at perfect quality, yet still very quiet. I tried various models in the respective alsa- base.conf file, but without success. So, I am waiting for help...
