Hello again,
Forgot to mention that under Windows dvd drive works fast, so I would
rule out a hardware problem.
Some additional info:
lspci | grep SATA
00:11.0 SATA controller: ATI Technologies Inc SB700/SB800 SATA Controller [AHCI
mode]
systool -a -v -m libata
Module = "libata"
Attributes:
initstate = "live"
refcnt = "4"
srcversion = "8EEDFA91840B8BF4F95490E"
version = "3.00"
Parameters:
acpi_gtf_filter = "7"
allow_tpm = "0"
ata_probe_timeout = "0"
atapi_dmadir = "0"
atapi_enabled = "1"
atapi_passthru16 = "1"
dma = "7"
fua = "0"
ignore_hpa = "1"
noacpi = "0"
dma is set to 7, e.g. it's set to all devices (including dvd).

All devices with the exception of dvd work fast.
Any additional hardware information is available on request.
I'd like to find a root cause of the problem.
Any hints would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Alexander
