Hello, I had exactly the same problem. I couldn't find documentation saying where os-prober and linux-boot- prober got their uuid.
The instructions in message #3 (thanks Felix) permitted to manually correct grub.cfg on my copy-disk. Then, on the original disk, i ran update-grub, which gives now the right uuid for the copy-disk. Would it be possible to get uuid directly from device instead of questioning the alternate disk grub.cfg file, for example with: sudo grub-probe -d /dev/sdXY --target=fs_uuid which gives the right uuid. -- update-grub doesn't write a correct grub.cfg in Karmic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/479962 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
