In the interests of science I tried out the karmic backports driver. The good news is that it didn't crash. The bad news is that performance was abysmal and that it spewed out about a thousand kernel log messages per second.
The laptop was 1.5 metres from the access point and did a file transfer at 2.8 megabytes/sec. Using 2.4GHz gives around 10 megabytes/sec. I suspect the huge amount of logging also didn't help performance. -- intel 4965 fails with 5ghz (karmic regression) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/437990 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
