Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: rhythmbox
plugins e.g. lame, gstreamer, faac etc. are available. SMPlayer and VLC plays
these mp3 files fine.
Rhythmbox plays the file - the progress bar is moving, but no sound.
When using menu Edit/Preferences/Tab Music - the "Preferred Format" list does
not contain the "mp3" format. Choosing "Edit..." lists the available profiles,
which includes "CD Quality, MP3", which is marked "active" (verified), but
still this profile cannot be selected as "Preferred format".
A new "MP3" Profile (GStreamer pipeline = audio/x-raw-int,rate=44100,channels=2
! lame name=enc ! id3mux) is marked active, but also cannot be selected as
"Preferred format".
