The Ubuntu package contains now changes and there is no reason to hold this patch back. I have combined your two patch files and updated the changelog (version is now 0.5-3ubuntu3; karmic -> lucid; updated timestamp). Please provide a real debdiff next time. I have attached the debdiff for this bug.
