Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ntfs-3g

Hi,

I would like to share a directory with samba. The directory is in an
ntfs filesystem.

The nautilus successfully created the share and tried to set the
permission to the others and groups, although, the persmissions didn't
change at all. I've got problems only with the directory permissions.

mtab:
/dev/sdb1 /media/cucc_160G fuseblk
rw,nosuid,nodev,allow_other,default_permissions,blksize=4096 0 0

directory permission change:
picim...@picimaci-laptop:/media/cucc_160G$ ls -al
drwx------ 1 picimaci picimaci 4096 2009-12-17 18:00 Kyuss

picim...@picimaci-laptop:/media/cucc_160G$ sudo chmod 755 Kyuss

picim...@picimaci-laptop:/media/cucc_160G$ ls -al
drwx------ 1 picimaci picimaci 4096 2009-12-17 18:00 Kyuss

Because of this bug the samba says the following error message after every
access:
[2010/01/03 12:27:01, 0] smbd/service.c:1009(make_connection_snum)
'/media/cucc_160G/Kyuss' does not exist or permission denied when connecting
to [kyuss] Error was Permission denied

** Affects: ntfs-3g (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
