Hi Timothy,
I'm actually seeing two different errors here. The first is the "short
read in buffer_copy" error:
run-parts: executing /etc/kernel/header_postinst.d/nvidia-common
E: /var/cache/apt/archives/openoffice.org-core_1%3a3.0.1-9ubuntu3.1_i386.deb:
short read in buffer_copy (backend dpkg-deb during
`./usr/lib/openoffice/basis3.0/program/libsvtli.so')
This type of error is usually resolved after doing an "apt-get clean"
followed by reinstalling the package. Can you try this and see if it
helps?
Next, the error that I see in your DpkgTerminalLog.txt file is the
following:
run-parts: /etc/kernel/header_postinst.d/nvidia-common exited with return code
139
Failed to process /etc/kernel/header_postinst.d at
/var/lib/dpkg/info/linux-headers-2.6.28-17-generic.postinst line 110.
dpkg: error processing linux-headers-2.6.28-17-generic (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2
This would seem to indicate and error with the nvidia-common package.
Can you try the first suggestion of running "apt-get clean" and let us
know if it at least resolves the first error. If the second error still
remains we'll want to reassign this to the nvidia-common package.
Thanks.
