This doesn't occur all of the time, after a reboot I was able to suspend and resume successfully I don't actually know whether it was a suspend or resume problem as I didn't notice - my laptop resumes automatically on opening the lid and I don't remember checking whether it was suspended or not I don't get flashing caps-lock, it wasn't frozen, the mouse was moving as I said above, and I could switch virtual terminals with Ctrl-Alt-F1 etc, but I couldn't log in
