Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kile

Kile is extremely slow to bring up the "Configure Shortcuts" dialog
window. On my computer (which is not slow) it can take as much as a
minute.

Apparently the trouble is that it takes a lot of time to populate and/or
display the list of hotkeyable actions. Try this:

1. Open "Configure Shortcuts". This takes a long time.
2. Type something in the search field (like "foo"). This goes quickly.
3. Delete all text in the search field. Notice that Kile now lags for many
seconds while re-populating the list.

This problem appeared in one of the last 1.x versions of Kile, and it is
even worse in Kile 2.x.

My Kile version is 1:2.1.0~svn1014763beta2-1ubuntu1. I am running
Kubuntu 9.10. The problem also happens in Fedora 11.l
