I have been gettign maddening random crashes mostly of firefox but also
sometimes affecting other apps to the point the desktop becomes
inoperative requiring hard forced reset. I find this in my dmesg log

My system is running off a 300GB raptor via an encrypted root filesystem
which mounts a set of lvm partitions for /, /home and /swap. I also have
an unencrypted 1.2TB mdadm raid5 that spans three drives.
