Thank you for taking your time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are closing this bug as kiba-dock isn't part of the
official Ubuntu software repositories and doesn't get support from
Ubuntu.
I still looked into this for a bit and noticed you didn't provide a link to the
.deb you filed this bug about. Didding through the net I couldn't find it
either and looking at the project homepage all I could find were packages for
edgy and feisty. I then downloaded the source code and built the application on
the current development version of Ubuntu Lucid Lynx (10.04) which I'm using
right now (I don't have a karmic pc anymore) and kiba-dock works perfectly fine
there.
So here's what I'm thinking:
The package you're using was built for an older Ubuntu release and you're
trying to use it in Karmic. As newer Ubuntu releases contain newer Software,
the package might depend on library versions from an older Ubuntu release and
thus fails to work in Karmic. If this is the case then the package needs to be
rebuilt against the Karmic release and there is nothing we on the Ubuntu side
can do about it, please contact the person that built the package you're using.
PS: From what I've seen 'gnome-do' in dock mode provides similiar
functionality as kiba-dock and is part of the official Ubuntu
repository. Care to try it?
