Binary package hint: xorg
I can't logout, shutdown or restart. The computer just goes to a black screen
with 2 white squares(garbage), or displays the kubuntu logo with an empty
status bar. Nothing happens, so I have to force shutdown or restart. Shutdown
(sudo halt) from the command-line doesn't work either. Some other users had
similar problems with ATI cards, but fixed it with other drivers, but I'm using
integrated intel graphics. I tried using VESA driver, with various
resolutions, but that crashes X on login. 'Restart X Session' on login screen
also crashes to black screen.
My setup:
distro: kubuntu (dapper drake) for x86_64
mobo: ASUS P5P800-VM
cpu: Pentium D - 830
graphics: mobo graphics - intel 865G, i810 driver
