Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: language-support-en

On installing Ubuntu 9.10 server, it seems that Open Office is installed
as language-support-en depends on language-support-writing-en, which in
turn depends no OpenOffice, myspell etc. This causes all sorts of
unnecessary software (such as various X11 libs, a JRE, some GNOME
libraries).

Having this sort of software installed by default via the ubuntu-server
task seems inappropriate?

I am able to cull all of this out without any issue, except that it
takes a good amount of time to do so, and introduces an unnecessary step
in an install process that could introduce user error (ie, accidentally
uninstall ubuntu-standard and a whole lot of other essentials)

** Affects: language-support-en (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
