my problem is definitly not librxtx. I did a lot of working 64-bit
installations beginning from 8.10 to 9.10 with different arduino-version
(I guess I started with 014, not sure) and descripted it for example
here http://www.freeduino.de/books/arduino-tutorial-lady-
ada/lektion-0-vorbereitungen/einrichtung-der-arduino-ide-auf-
einem-64-bi. What I have done until today I described here
http://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1257794501 So I assume
that it is a bug of avrdude or bug in ftdi-sio driver
