Aehmm, I don't know about Ubuntu (I am the responsible Debian
developer), but I am quiet sure that this has long been fixed, the
current version is 2005.dfsg.3-1.
And for the next bug report, please read what is written in the ouput:

> /tmp/texlive.fmtutil.GPC14041
> Please include this file if you report a bug.
These files give valuable information. Anyway, I won't investigate this
any longer with this old version. Sorry.
