Hi! I do think the problem is in ~/.kde grants. I installed Amarok using "sudo apt-get..." so that's the root privileges in ~/.kde (Amarok is the first kde application I've used before I've installed Gnome Karmik) So, as Andrew said, I think it's an installation/packaging issue.
