Mike, Sorry about the short detail....I was notified that there were updates available, and while using the automated process it crashed and generated the report. I did not use the Package manager or apt-get.
After restarting the system twice, the automated process step through a new upgrade process I've never seen using Ubuntu. Even though there were errors during that process (watching the terminal window) after reboot, each update process now works without generating an error.
