Public bug reported:
Ubuntu 9.10, german version, all updates applied.
When I set up Ubuntu 8.4 I choosed a administrator / installer user-id which,
in the meantime, I don't like any more. In the meantime I did my regular
upgrades, finally to 9.10.
Since 9.10 I decided to change the main user: First, I defined another user
with administrator privileges and the name I prefer.
Logging on with this new user showed that things worked well except the
settings for the network-connections.
I hoped things could change when I delete the old admin user, but in vain.
Opening System > Settings > Networkconnections shows me a window with three
entries
ifupdown (eth0)
ifupdown (eth2)
ifupdown (eth1)
telling last used "never" for all three
I have a PCI network card (eth2) and an onboard VIA network adapter (eth1).
"Edit" and "Delete" are deactivaret, no matter, which of them I mark.
Only the "add"-button is activ.
