However patch (ov51x) exists for kernel 2.6.30: http://www.rastageeks.org/ov51x-jpeg/index.php/Main_Page I managed to install ov51x on Ubuntu 9.10 (2.6.31-16-generic) with Cheese works fine, however I had no luck with Skype.
