Marking as invalid as per poster's latest comment. A bug in an
unauthorized non-Ubuntu package is nothing Ubuntu can fix. If you can
pare this down to a bug in the Ubuntu ess package, feel free to reopen
and reassign to ess, with a detailed instruction for how to reproduce
